TUTORIAL VICTORIAN KALEIDOCYCLE
+ Basic Instructions
This beading pattern provides colour diagrams and word charts to create the VICTORIAN 3D Kaleidocycle. This Kaleidocycle has 4 different 'faces'.
Each triangle has 15 rows.
Included are also the step by step instructions with clear 3D images of how to create a Kaleidocycle.
This pattern is in the new format: the zip & hinge beads are beaded directly with the triangles and the final assembly is simplified.
You will receive an e-mail with a download link to download the 30 pages PDF file.
It includes a list of needed materials and colour codes. The Kaleidocycle is beaded with Miyuki Delica's. You can also use Toho Treasures (but don't mix them, as there is a slight difference in size).
The beads or finished product are not included, this is the digital pattern to make your own 3D Kaleidocycle.
Level: advanced (knowledge of peyote necessary)
We would like to thank Susannah Thomson (ZannahMakes) for translating origami Kaleidocycles to seed beads and Contemporary Geometric Beadwork (Kate McKinnon in particular) for thoroughly exploring and coming up with a beautiful elegant hinged architecture for this amazing turning machine.
Please take a look at the Contemporary Geometric Beadwork website for endless inspiration and ideas: CGB Website.
It inspired us to start creating beaded Kaleidocycles!
